Five Simple Business Strategies to Gain More Tutoring Clients

Five Simple Business Strategies to Gain More Tutoring Clients

Try these 5 strategies to grow your tutoring business

Finding and getting more tutoring clients doesn't have to be a cat and mouse game. Instead of chasing down potential tutoring clients, they could be coming to you! Let's talk about five ways you can get more tutoring clients without chasing your tail.

What if you could have a full client list without feeling like you're being salesy?

You don’t have to be salesy to grow a profitable tutoring business

What if you could have a full client list without feeling like you're being salesy?

What would it feel like to completely stop chasing tutoring clients while consistently growing your client list?  Maybe that's something that's held you back from getting more tutoring clients because you're afraid of sounding salesy, so you just simply don't put yourself out there.  I’m here to help you with a few quick steps today that are going to just turn around your thinking about what it means to actually be salesy, and why you need to talk about your business daily in order to grow your business.

Stop chasing tutoring clients and instead start solving their problems

Stop chasing tutoring clients and instead start solving their problems

One of the ways that you can stop chasing tutoring clients is to apply the 80/20 rule. I had someone else ask a question about this in a YouTube video.  The 80/20 rule simply means giving away 80% of your amazing knowledge for free to your email list, blog, YouTube channel and social media.  The 20% is your paid content.  That's hard for people at first when they're beginning their business. So, what does that look like?  You might be describing a problem that one of your tutoring clients has, and then giving some tips along the way, but the main solution is going to be signing up for your one to one tutoring services, small group classes, or online class.  Keep that 80/20 rule in mind.  If you’re solving problems and you're present on social media coupled with blogging every week, you'll have a full client list.  I know this because my own student’s inside of Tutorpreneur Academy® have full client lists and they're doing all of these things. The main reason that some people aren't getting full lists that haven't worked with me yet are most likely because they're not doing all those steps.  There is a little bit more work upfront that you have to do if you want to keep your list full. Once you do, it's like a well oiled machine, it just keeps running.

Growing your tutoring business starts with building community

Community is the most important factor in growing your online tutoring business

Growing your tutoring business starts with building community

You can grow your business over time, of course, but if you're not trying to build a community while you're doing it, then you're probably going to fall flat on your face.  I know that sounds harsh, but most people that I have seen that are entrepreneurs, it seems like they're just trying to make sales and not truly grow a community.  They’re trying to get more clients and not actually trying to build a community.  That's one of the reasons I talk about having a Facebook group for your tutoring business because it allows you to build an authentic community of your ideal tutoring clients, either students or their parents.  You're giving them lots of value every week.  When it comes time for the solution, they're going to come back to you every time.  Focus on building a community and less on building customers.  I even have a video on how to use Facebook to grow your tutoring business.

Talking about your business every day will help grow your business

Talking about your business is an essential key to consistent growth

Talking about your business every day will help grow your business

I want you to talk about your business every day. I preach this all the time. It's one of the main reasons I created Tutorpreneur Promo Kit® mini course. It's $47, but its value is 10 times that because it walks you through everything you need to know about talking about your business on social media, lessons to go along with it. If you're willing to talk about your business every day, then you're going to grow your business. I've worked with a lot of tutors in a one to one coaching situation where they were nervous about getting on camera and really they just had to overcome it. Once they did, they started making Instagram Reels and TikTok videos and talking on their Instagram stories solving problems. Once they consistently did this, their business grew and then they were very excited about that! They realized they wished they had started sooner and gotten over the fear of talking about their business. It's not being salesy to talk about the problems you solve. It's being salesy to say, “Book right now with me!” versus “Hey, here's a problem you might be having, here's what you can do about it!” If you're willing to talk about your business every day, I promise you it's going to grow

Weekly content that solves problems for your ideal tutoring client is a proven strategy for growth

Creating weekly content will grow your business

Weekly content that solves problems for your ideal tutoring client is a  proven strategy for growth

Along with that is something that I already mentioned is having weekly content that solves problems for your ideal client. That is one of the best growth strategies you can have coupled with starting your email list because one of the ways you push that content out to your ideal customer is by having an email list.  I did a whole blogging and YouTube series on how to start your email list which you can watch here.  Being able to provide that value to your audience on a weekly basis is key.  You could also share your weekly blog posts inside of your free Facebook group for your tutoring clients, and so much more. There's so many ways to get tutoring clients that don't involve paid ads and that don't involve being salesy and I've just outlined them all for you.  Think about which one you want to start with and slowly build on the other ones. Don't try to do them all at once.  If I had to tell you one place to start, I would honestly say to you start talking about your business more on social media. Of course, I want you to start your email list but that thing will probably take you a little bit more time and you might need help.  I teach this entire process inside of Tutorpreneur Academy®.
